No Fear

Dressform
I've been either out of town or hosting guests for the last two weekends, but today I finally was able to make something for whiplash! Bright and early this morning I was wandering around my basement looking like a saranwrap-clad alien, systematically covering myself in gummed paper tape. I've wanted to try my hand at making tops or altering tshirts on my own dress form for a while, but I found as I got closer to making one I had a bit of fear as well. A life-sized model that allows you to see everything your body is (and isn't) in three dimensions - every girl's idea of a good time! :)

I used the techniques described here. Unlike the article, I was doing this on my own, so I did have to extricate myself via a cut down the front center instead of sides or back. It made for some awkward seaming around the bustline, but I also didn't have to stand immobilized from the waist up waiting for my boyfriend to wake up!

I'm impressed! I can't believe you did this on your own. I used the same instructions and had my husband help me with mine. He had to do an emergency scissoring to free me when I almost passed out. It didn't go well, even with two people.

Great idea! I can't imagine how you did this without assistance. Very useful!
