One of my favorite things to do is scout out new and different supply catalogs. They may seem like boring books filled with items I'll never need, but there is always that not-so-distant possibility that you'll find some amazing stufff. Stuff you can paint or decorate or repurpose for your home. Some hold more promise than others, such as McMaster-Carr. And many more are still out there, ready to be explored!
Restaurant Supply
Restaurant and foodservice supply companies carry everything from barware in bulk to authentic vinyl diner booths. Surfing through their catalog, you're likely to start recognizing things from your local favorite restaurant! These are great places for bulk glassware and lots of sturdy stainless steel items.
Instawares
AceMart
Scientific Supply
This one comes at the suggestion of a very cool blog, Apartment Therapy. They've got tons of beakers, flasks and assorted lab materials that can also be used in the home. I also scoped out their very attractive selection of ceramic crucibles - they'd be great for earth candle containers!
American Science & Surplus
ScienceLab
Agriculture Supply
This catalog is a real eye-opener. There are supplies in here for all types of farming - livestock, agriculture, nurseries, you name it. The best sections are filled with industrial stregth gardening equipment at rock bottom prices.
FarmTek
Gempler's
